Abstract Objective: To learn if the left compared with the right hemisphere of right handed subjects exerts bilateral compared with contralateral motor control when performing precise and coordinated finger movements. Methods: The study investigated intertask differences of manual motor asymmetries such as speed, precision, and independent finger movements, in patients with unilateral lesions of the left (LHD) or right hemisphere (RHD) and normal controls (C). Results: Normal subjects showed the greatest right hand preference on a task that required rapid coordinated and precise independent finger movements (coin rotation). Update: Sad news on May 27, 2016 as the company announced the sudden passing of CEO Tony Stelliga. After this unfortunate turn of events I am considerably less bullish on the stock today than I was at the time of writing this piece as a significant part of my thesis was due to Mr. Stelliga's success, knowledge and connections in the competitive semiconductor space. Spectra7 to this point has raised funds at decent valuations and stayed ahead of the competition in VR and other consumer tech fields and I believe that a lot of that has to do with him. I WAS standing behind the till when a woman stepped up with her daughter, a pair of shoes in hand for me to scan, and said: "Give the nice lady the money". Lady? Surely she couldn't be talking to me. I was 16 and had just landed my first job in High Street store New Look. I'd never been called a lady before. It was in that moment I knew I was no longer a stroppy teenager. I was an important woman with responsibilities and a boss who wouldn't condone my mood swings. I had a job to do. So when it was announced that New Look are closing 60 of their stores I felt overwhelmingly sad. Sad for the decline of the High Street, sad for the 980 jobs facing the axe. But, most importantly, sad for those young adults who might never learn the phone basic life skills that a part-time job offers. I worked for New Look from 16 to 24 — mainly at its branch in Cheshunt, Herts — and can honestly say I would be half the woman I am today without that invaluable experience behind...
